DARKSIDE Drummer Quits, Band's Future Uncertain
September 20, 2008Austrian death metal band DARKSIDE has issued the following update:
"Lukas [Siska] has decided that other things are more important to him than being a member of DARKSIDE, so unfortunately this leads to the situation of DARKSIDE being without a drummer at this moment. The band has to cancel all upcoming shows for the next time until a replacement will be found. We will keep you updated. Sadly enough this also means that the band cannot take part in the prestigious STP Metalweekend in St. Pölten, on Saturday September 20, 2008. We are very sorry, but this is beyond our control. The Maleventum Metal Mayhem Festival, originally scheduled for September 27, 2008, has been delayed to October 11, 2008, but DARKSIDE are not the bill of the show anymore. Anyway we couldn't have played, so this just makes it easier.
"DARKSIDE have decided to put all future plans and activities on hold for the moment."
Commented vocalist Wolf: "I'm fed up to work with unprofessional acting people and right now I don't even know if I am willing to invest any further energy in this band. I put all activities on hold for now and I really need to take some time off from DARKSIDE. Maybe after 18 years it's also time to say goodbye and do something different. There have been to many problems in the past couple of years and I don't want to continue like this. Until I don't find a bunch of people who are willing to share my goals and visions with all their heart, I declare the chapter DARKSIDE closed."
DARKSIDE released its latest album, "Amber – Skeletal Journeys through the Void", in March 2007 through Austria's up-and-coming metal label Noisehead Records.
